The question why.

I sit here on the sand
my toes and fingers
wiggling through time
the sand feels
rusty and thin
so smooth yet ruff
my fears i write
my dreams i whisper
as i sat here
a little bird came to me
full of energy and life
so free it sang
the sirens lullaby
not a care in the world
so cheerful, he said to me
time shall pass
your fears no more
set your spirit free
let your heart love
do not be afraid
you will grow strong
you see
we search our whole lives
for that special kind of guy
the one that sets your heart alight
with burning loves desire
let the wind fly through your hair
and count the endless stars so bright
let the seagull stare with wonder
as we stare back and ponder
and ask the question why...
