Lovely Little Ladies

by Vegetable   Jul 13, 2006

When the first flowers were born
from drops of sun-kissed ice,
Ladybugs appeared.
Gathered outside my window
millions.
A field of red and black poppies
untouchable behind the glass.
For a month or so,
they only seemed to multiply
before they all disappeared.
The little ladies bodies,
I discovered on my window sill.
The once glistening patterned shells,
now weak and brittle.
Their six small legs tucked elegantly
under their bodies.
In dignified Peace they rest.

High definition imagery! I love how you described everything so perfectly. Your words painted the perfect scene.
    I love this line:

"A field of red and black poppies
    untouchable behind the glass."

Even though the lady bugs died, you wrote about them with such perfection.
Take care and keep it up~Holly
