Keepers Of Memory

by jessica tee   Jul 15, 2006

Not even the horror of wars could add up to it.
Trains full of thousands and no where to sit.
Concentration camps with millions of Jews.
Innocent and dying with everything to lose.
Rows and rows of dead bodies stacked up everywhere.
Families torn apart is this really fair?
Without food for so long like skeletons walking around
The screaming and crying was a horrible sound.
Something needed to be done.
Digging your own grave then shot with a gun?
It's hard to describe my emotional reaction.
This all because Hitler wanted satisfaction.
Time to defend and fight.
This brutal Nazi indecency is not right.
We went down willingly with no fears.
As soon as we arrived we heard nothing but cheers.
Breaking away from the suffering and pain.
Many killed, yet freedom to gain.
Millions of Jews murdered and innocent lives lost.
Would have all had a chance if it weren't for the Holocaust.
