Just Saying Thanks

I don't remember when we first met
And I doubt that memory will come again
But it really doesn't matter anymore
You're still a great best friend

I don't even need to say one word
You just know when something wrong
We never even have to discuss it
You just smile and keep me strong

We're so comfortable with talking
That when we talk of something bad
We can look at each other and laugh
Like we were never even sad

You're house is like my house
I'm there almost every day
You're like my younger sister
And I'm protective of you in that way

Without you the world would be darker
For you have brought a light to me
You smiled when no one else would
And brought a laugh into my misery

I trust you with everything
Though everything, you already know
You caught me when I fell
And you never did let go

I don't know what else to say
So I guess here's where my poem will end
I'd just like to say thanks for always smiling
And for always being a friend.
