The Void Within My Heart

I close my eyes each night,
And can't help but think of you.
My eyes fill with tears,
But there's nothing I can do.

I lay here in bed,
Imagining you by my side.
Thinking of these past few months,
And the many times I've cried.

My heart cries out to you.
But my tears just seem in vain,
There's nothing I can do,
To take away this pain.

A dull ache consumes me,
Swallowing me whole,
Because I long for the man I love,
The man who completes my soul.

But I am no longer whole,
There is a void within my heart,
And here this space shall remain,
As long as we're apart.

So return to me my love,
Complete my soul once more,
Make my life meaningful again,
Like the way things were before.

* One of the worst feelings is to be in love but forced to be separated by many miles. This poem is for those out there who know how it feels to be separated from your love.
