Fledgling

by goddess-glamourpuss   Jul 26, 2006

The time has come for you to fly
I hope I've trained you well
And as I watch you leave me
My heart begins to swell

Fly off little one, your time has come
For you to leave the nest
You are off on a journey long
A never-ending quest

The world is yours now to explore
I hope it treats you kind
Spread your wings and don't forget
To open up your mind

Fear not though as you start at school
For I will surely wait
And as you leave the classroom
I'll be there at the gate

I like this one too, it makes me think of my fiance, he has to go now, but as much as it hurts,I know it would have to happen. Keep writing more, I love your styles, and don't forget to keep in touch

Great use of words, you can still work on the flow

It's cute poem, but the fact that it was about a child at the end really threw me off and I didn't like it as much then. If it had been more nature like it would have seemed better to me.

Aww! Sounds like something my mom would say to me =) It's cute. It sounds like a graduating poem. Whatever it is, it's very cute. =) 5/5 I loved how wel it flowed. Terrific! xoxo
