Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time there lived a princess
she was the most fairest maiden you'd ever see
it was quite obvious she was blessed
no one would ever disagree

than there was a man
so handsome as can be
this was where love began
but their parents wouldn't agree

they loved each other so much
so secretly they would meet
she was intoxicated by his touch
he made her life complete

in a world where love was cruel
and high status did matter
she tried so hard to keep her cool
but her heart was beginning to shatter

the princess was forced to marry another
for the consequences were grave
it was for the sake of her lover
a life she wanted to save

her father did it anyway
he killed the man she loved
the princess had been betrayed
and had to be with her beloved

she gave them a reason why she died
she wrote a little note
of a love that they denied
they cried at what she wrote

"to the queen and king
i love you so
even with the pain you bring
this is why i have to go

why didn't you approve?
i love him more than anyone
from life he got him removed
because of this i'm also gone

with all the pain you put me through
i still shall not complain
because i really have to thank you
