Let Go

by Christine   Aug 6, 2006

To you, when she left, she took the light away.
She left you in darkness and you felt your soul beginning to decay.
The misery you felt was eating you alive, burning like fire, scorching away your blackened insides.
You wished you could cut out your soul to not feel the pain.
But you knew in your heart nothing could take the agony away.
So you closed your heart to the world, continuing to long for the one who made you want to die.
Not realizing that holding on would only continue to make you cry.
I want so bad to heal these wounds, to make you feel alive again.
But I fear I'll never be able to make you see that against this pain you can win.
You deserve so much more than the pain she gave.
If only you'd let me take your suffering away.
But only you can chose to let go,
And if you do, I'll be here to show
That you will find love again, and this time it will not end.
Not if you let me be the one who mends your shattered heart,
and put back together your world that's been torn apart.
