There Was No One There But You

by elise   Aug 6, 2006

There are days,
when I find,
that you care,
and that you're blind.

There are times,
I must admit,
that I would like,
true submit.

There are lies,
there are truths,
you never left,
yet were no couths.

I would try,
to break the ice,
but you shunned,
and were not nice.

Nevertheless,
you are my friend,
despite the odds,
loyal to no end.

There was no one,
but you were there,
and I remember,
your true air.

So my friend,
I like you still,
even though,
heart's not filled.

Don't doubt my say,
I know you're sad,
but you will find,
life's not bad.

I'll be there,
like you were too,
for the only one,
there was you.
