I Don't Believe in Heaven, But I Believe in You.

by Not Bulletproof   Aug 7, 2006

--This is to my awesome friend, Benjamin Steinberg.--

One day soon, I know we'll be together,
proving our promise of sweet "forever".
Distance means nothing when we have each other.

So far, so far away for the time being,
But eventually, eventually, we'll be seeing
the same blue sky; same starry night;
it'll be the most beautiful sight...

The sun will set on an open lake's water,
but to watch it go down, neither of us will bother.
Indulged in conversation, drinking coffee and cocoa,
too happy to notice the skies pink-orange glow.

I may not believe in Heaven,
but I believe in bliss...
(I believe in THIS.)
I believe in you,
and the things you say you'll do.
I know we'll be together one day,
because you're my friend,
and, well, because I want it that way.

Golly gee!
I can't wait to see,
you,
it's true.
Maybe you're right,
some night,
we'll meet,
and it'll be just like we stepped off the world,
into Heaven.

You're my best friend.

Now see, if everyone had a friend like this we wouldn't be on the verge of WWIII. But we don't, which makes this poem even more fantastic. It flowed really well; and it painted a picture in my head of two friends having the time of their life. And what makes it even more fantastic is that this friendship is based on long distance, which is hard to keep up with, so it makes it even more genuine. So to sum it up; "Perfecto! Mwah!" (In French-man voice, mind you.)

    Take Care,
    Renee
