How much you mean to me

by Rachel   Aug 8, 2006

Never had I thought, did I deserve
Someone to guide me through this earth
With the caring compassion and love that you give
You make my life one worth to live

You have stuck by me whatever life brings
In you is an angel, who is hiding their wings
When I feel bad and want to shed a tear
I think of you and it all becomes clear

I have been blessed with a friend so true
I thank God everyday for giving me you
I look up to the night sky and look for a star
To tell those above how special you are

You really will never know all you have done
You wash away the rain and bring out the sun
As this poem comes to an end
I want you to know, my best friend

You are so special, through and through
Thank you so much for all that you do!

Hi Rachel, I like this poem, it has a lot of warmth.

I think the second stanza could be better as the third and fourth lines interrupt the even flow the poem has. Perhaps working on this could help it run more smoothly. Experiment with words and try to incorporate a new word with every poem, it will help your vocabulary and improve your verse which has clearly got a solid foundation.

    Keep it up!
