The Little Boy and His Picture

by Never*gonna*make*it   Aug 13, 2006

In the cornor of a grocery store
Sits a little boy.
In one hand he holds a picture
the other a little red toy.

\"He never puts the picture down.\"
An old man said to me.
\"He carries it everywhere and shows it to everyone to see.\"

Who\'s in the picture he holds in his hand?
A woman and child and a handsome young man.

I stood up, thanked the man outside, and went to the cornor where the little boy liked to hide.

Whats your name? I asked the little boy. He said, \"My name\'s Tim and the baby in the picture is my little brother Ben.

As I looked at little Tim he had tears in his eyes. And I can only imagine the fears that he hides.

\"I wanna buy this toy for Ben.
I think it would eman a lot to him.
I bet it would to. I said to Tim. How about I give you money and you can give it to him?

I\'d love that but I can\'t do that.
Daddy says its not right.
But if you\'d like you could stay with me and Ben tonight.

I followed Tim home that day.
I found a run down house, no toys, no kids at play.

I sat and watched Timmy play with Ben and not long after I got there, a young man walked in.

He said Its not what you think.
I said no need to explain.
He said Thank you for coming.
I said I\'m glad I came.

I sat down and listened to the handsome young man.
He said their mom left me soon after Ben was born. She left my heart broken, played with, and torn.

You\'ll make it I swear, I said to him. He said its to hard when their mom doesnt care. This battle with her I just cant win. Everyday I have to fight the same battle again.

He said you barely know me
But I like what I see.
I said are you asking me out?
He said with tears in his eyes, \"please?\"

I wiped the tears from his eyes.
I took his hand and said my friend there\'s no need to cry. I\'d be happy to be with you because your perfect in my eyes.

**To be continued**

~I know its not that good but its based on a true story.~
