The Cost of Happiness

by Samantha   Aug 19, 2006

I could call out for help
But there's nobody there
Completely submerged,
Now I'm straining for air.
And suddenly all my light has disappeared
The thing that I've come most to fear
Has taken the place of happiness in my heart
Loneliness breeds with no reason to part
From the depths of my soul to the front of my thoughts,
And I'm left to define just how hard I fought.

All I want is a moment's reprieve
But please, don't let me mislead
You, I'd take more if more I could get
But already I know I can't repay my debt.

My heart races to escape the memories of better times
Until it finds its home in the arms stronger than mine.
But foresight has stopped me in my tracks
If I go forward, I can't turn back.

Words pour out and what I thought has become true,
I've come back from the dead by killing you.

This was intresting, I only got thrown off on one part, other than that, the whole entire poem was really well written, and I enjoyed it.
