"In LOVE We Trust"

by J Avery Johnson   Mar 7, 2004

In love we trust... that happiness will come.
A happiness that awaits sorrow, a battle lost by everyone.
In love we trust... that our tears will no longer fall.
Tears of joy, lost in the innocence of it all.
All this be done in a last ditch effort for salvation.
Heaven cried and no tears fell, zero chance for precipitation.
In love we trust... that an answer will come, for our prayers.
Answers to life's questions that drew blank stares.
In love we trust... that a lonely heart will be no more.
Lonely, dismayed and bothered, yet not blackened to the core.
The core..., better known as the foundation, where it all begins.
To start anew, build-up, look ahead to the end.
In love we trust... that this do in remembrance of me.
In love we trust... that the ONE we love will hold the key.
One thing is for certain, true love knows nothing about trust.
Now days the words I Love You are used in the name of Lust.

*It may take a minute, but you know what I mean.

If you never get a chance to??? And yet not blackened to the core..I love that...and you are so right..I love you is thrown around nowdays, when so many people that say it, don't seem to have the first idea what it truly means to love but just use the phrase to get the things that they desire at that time..whatever they may be. Very good, heartfelt poem..take care, Michelle
