Kindred Spirits

by SilenceInDecember   Aug 26, 2006

The blonde hair that glittered in the sun.
The tan skin.
The piercing blue eyes.
The same you I fell in love with
But different.
It could be the summere I spent away from you.
Or that many other people came into my life.
But I remained loyal to you.
Always, I would never think of anyone else.
Because I know I made a promise to you.
I don't know why but I did.
The you, that eyes carved me.
Made me feel welcome in this world.
The warm embrace you held around me.
The tender lips that traced a journey around my mouth.
No, i Won't think of it.
It makes me think of the old you not the new you.
Not the one that is pale
and hair almost white.
I couldn't remain strong when I saw you again.
It broke out of me.
I cried.
The skinny fingers that reached for my hands.
But i pushed them away.
Now everything was so strange to me.
You were different even though you said you weren't.
I couldn't see you.
It went Blurry.
I ran.
All i could hear was the pounding of my heart and my feet hitting the ground.
But then i stopped suddenly.
The whisper in my ear.
Your voice calling to me.
Beckoning me.
Pulling me towards it.
I cried.
Letting tears run down my face.
Dropping to the ground.
I turned and stared where i had come from.
The silence.
But the voice still there.
And i returned.
Kindred Spirits.
