The Meeting

by Megan   Sep 1, 2006

The night is silently creeping in,
gently the wind blows.
Two youthful people standing together,
talking as if they'd known each other for years.
The temperature is dropping,
as neither knew of the chemistry.
The chemistry that was building,
the internal click,
that made this conversation worthwhile.
That made these two come together.
That made the embrace even better.

As the young man held out his arms,
the girl smiled a little,
shyly leaning into them.
The strength she felt in his embrace,
the warmth of being held close against his chest.
A magical moment in itself,
as they looked up into each others eyes.

A soft hand placed under the girl's chin,
as he tilted her face up to look at him directly.
Both smiled before it was done.
It was as if they had suddenly been put in slow motion,
as he leaned down and she leaned upward,
their lips touching in a shy kiss at first.
Shyly they pulled back,
immediately they looked at each other.
Smiles forming on their lips as they continued their embrace.
The night was just perfect.

For the first time,
no storms,
no loud noises,
hardly any cars,
just a porch light and some street lights.
The moon by now,
it had been hiding behind the clouds,
it was fully visible,
and the stars dotted the sky in a dominant manner.
It wasn't too warm,
nor too cold.
The perfect night for a new connection.

The two embraced still,
being held close to one another.
The heat from their bodies,
kept them warm.
As the girl leaned her head onto his chest,
listening closely to his heart beat.
Steady and calm it was,
as she closed her eyes.
He kissed the crown of her head lightly,
before resting his head on hers,
closing his eyes too.
Quietly they talked,
their voices soft,
as they just held each other in the night air.

A perfect night,
boy and girl are together,
under the night sky,
and as the story comes to an end.
A perfect story,
a perfect trust,
a perfect connection,
maybe even a Perfect Love,
has been built here tonight.
