The day of change

by PFC Louderback   Sep 4, 2006

I will always remember, when the towers fell, so much confusion, chaos and hell. I was not involved, but I bled for their loss, lives cast away at the hands of evil plots. My country wept, and so did I, wonderin if its safe to sleep, awake with one eye. My life was just beggining, so young at age 12, life with a clean slate, whatever I wanted. With 9/11 ringing in my ears, I knew what I wanted, I must face my fears. Playing soldier as a boy was just a game, but one day I would fight, in my countries name. At age 18 I knew it was time, to serve my country, to do my time. Just as the day it happened, it was fresh on my mind, as I swore loyalty to my country, so full of pride. When I feel weak, and cannot carry on, I remember those lost, and force myself on. I will fight for my country, die by the flag, remember those fallen, and not be sad.
