Back in that Place

by Jason Partin   Sep 5, 2006

I can go all day with a smile on my face,
But when someone brings up your name,
I'm back in that place...

I can remember those Saturday nights,
on the hood of my car,
Where we would just look up,
and make a wish on every star,
Whoa, I didn't think that those days, would ever end...

Chorus:
But that's the past,
It's over now,
The love we shared,
Has all burned out.
You're just a memory that I can't erase,
It's just amazing how,
The mention of your name,
Puts me back in that place.

Yeah, I've settled down,
And started my career,
And my heart continues to heal,
With each passing year.
And I continued to smile,
Oh, but not for too long...
Cause just last night,
I heard the mention of your name,
In a country song.

And my eyes lit up,
I started to cry,
Remembering past events in my life.
When we were close,
And so in love,
And we were what each other was thinking of...

But that's the past,
It's over now,
The love we shared,
Has all burned out...

Chorus:
But that's the past,
It's over now,
The love we shared,
Has been burned out.
You're just a memory,
I can't erase,
Everywhere I look,
I see your face.
It's just amazing how,
The mention of your name,
Puts me back in that place.

Yeah, yeah, yeah

It's just amazing how...........
You can erase the smile from my face,
And put me back in that place.

Yeah you, put me......back in that....place.
