And what of him?

by Scott   Sep 7, 2006

And What of Him?

At last you return
The battle waged for long
Though I see you now no longer smiling
No longer proud and strong

I decide to ask
And what of him?
Who was at you side
That man whom was silent
Filled with unspoken pride

He of common appearance,
With no merit to his name,
He who always shied of my gaze,
As if I put him to shame.

But I ask of you once more,
Where is he at present?
Your bleak darkened face,
Now filled with torment,
â??He is gone madam, and will not returnâ?¦â??

And with these mournful words, my eyes start to burn,
But what was he to me?
A mere silent man?
My emotions run amok,
I run as fast as I can.

To look upon a place where he had stood
His shadow now hurtfully gone,
To bring back the memories of his gentle face
The honour he had shone.

And overwhelmed I collapse in a heap
If only Iâ??d have known
Crystal tears dance at my feet
Now I am alone

As my heart is deeply broken,
Until now I never knew,
That Sir,
My quiet stranger

Iâ??m in love with you.
