A Love At Sea

by Kyleene   Sep 7, 2006

A great pain pricked my heart
As I watched you walk away
With the warm sunshine turning your hair into gold
And your gorgeous blue eyes turned away from me
My soul tore then
When you left me without a goodbye
Or a word of love
You promised me you would come back
And as the days slowly passed
Sorrow burrowed into my heart
And I began to lose hope
You had said that you would write, come back for me, and find no one else
Yes as I waited,
I realized you had forgotten me
Your new lover, the sea, had taken my place
Each night I cried myself to sleep
And dreamt of a ship lost in the waters
With waves crashing down upon wooden planks
And every morning I woke with fresh tears slipping from my eyes
Fear and depression were the only things I felt for the following weeks
And a dull throb became my heart
Finally I stopped dreaming of screams and freezing, angry waters
And started dreaming of you on a grand ship
The wind gently caressing your golden locks of hair
Your eyes held excitement and were a vivid blue
I dreamt of you coming home and telling me you were ready to start a life with me
That you had found yourself among those deep blue waves
I awoke one morning with a start and a joy in my heart
The sorrow gone
When I ran outside,
I found you standing there in the morning light
You had come back for me
There would be no more sorrow, pain, or fear
