The Red Rose

by shelby   Sep 8, 2006

The rose is so beautiful
I want it so much
I just want to feel it
Just give it a touch.

It just stands there so peaceful
Damp from the new dew
It's the rarest one out there
Only touched by a few.

Sometimes it may prick you
With it's sharpest thorn
And then for awhile
You're utterly torn.

But don't let it hurt you
The wound will soon heal
For if it has pricked you
It wasn't real.

The rose is so beautiful
I want it so much
I just want to feel it
Just give it a touch.

But I've never touched it
Below or above
For I've never played
In the garden of love.
