Desperate for the unreal

by Catherine   Sep 8, 2006

Tie me down and use me,
Abuse me,
I'll do anything for you...
Even if what you say isn't true.

There's a love that should fulfill me,
So I'd never need someone to hold me.
Don't know how I got this way,
Just for now, here will you let me stay.

You'll cause so much more hurt and pain,
Until our hearts can't bear the strain.
And all we ever wanted was to love and be loved:
But desperation and lust was the cliff from which we were shoved.

We're living in a broken world,
Through broken hearts our blood is swirled.
I had what I needed but now it's lost,
The fluttering feeling frozen with frost.

(this poem isn't about anyone - it's about how far I'd go with anyone trying to get something that probably doesn't exist)
