Walking in the Dark

by Levi   Sep 12, 2006

The light I can no longer see,
And without it I'll never be free.
Walking warily down the hallway,
I fear the darkness will forever stay.
As I step slowly; the floorboards squeak,
It feels like I've been walking for weeks.

I can't distinguish between life and dreams,
They are both filled with terrifying screams.
Can't trust both the truth or lies,
I can't even depend on my own two eyes.
The shadow begins to devour my soul,
And soon its evil will consume me whole.

Trying to scream but I make no sound,
I fall in hopelessness toward the ground.
I just can't take it any longer,
If only I had been that much stronger.
O Almighty God please hear my cry
Please answer me cause I don't wish to die.
