Something Like Salvation

by Tate LaBianca   Sep 13, 2006

Such dark eyes
Do they hide something?
Fear
Pain
Loneliness
I'll protect you
from it all.
A thousand blades pierce my flesh-
a small price to see you whole.
Binding and hiding my wounds
A martyr no more.
I'll save you
from everything
I was never spared.
The shadows that consume me
will shield you,
that you would never know my world.
And that I might find
a taste of my own salvation
through you.
