Warm regret

by jL   Sep 18, 2006

What he could only think of
Was how the world was cold
The metallic sheen of moonlight
The sea - a cold black flow
When the silvery glare of the blade
Cut into the very deepness of his skin
He then saw the crimson tide
And felt the red warmth within
The warmth that he felt much too late
Like a thousand words and apologies never said
He tried to stop the scarlet river
But to no avail, he could only shiver
He didnt take away his life that night
He took away so much more
For at the regretful moment when he died
He broke not one heart, but many more

Wow. This poem is GREAT. The way you wrote it is very good, easy to follow and get into the character's mind- whether real or fictitous.

I hope to read more by you :)
