Storm

by Raechel   Sep 21, 2006

Darkness gathers overhead
All is still but not yet dead
Feel the tension, all around
The slight vibrations, underground

A static charge, in the air
The hills around, dry and bare
Heavy rain, falls in sheets
Over grassy plains and city streets

Icy cold, it pelts the skin
Tiny needles, driven in
A blinding light, a thunder clap
Hits a nerve, your mind will snap

Electric blue splits the sky
Grinding clouds march on by
Nature with a mind of its own
Shakes the lives in which we've grown
