Distant cry

I hear you mumble the words "I need you"
My eyes fill up "I need you too"

I hear the tremble of your soft voice.. & I
Hate the way I cant see you as my method of choice

I hear your hands shake the phone,
I hate the sound, I feel so alone..

I count down the days, till we're reunited
And our hearts are reignited, I get excited

I think of how we led together on our own,
Then I think of going to bed
Without you holding me, or whispering on the phone.

I feel like my life has been disconnected,
Every time we separate, it feels unexpected.

The days get closer, and I dream of touching your hand,
I remember the day we walked alone on the sand..

It comes to tomorrow the resurrection of my heart
And the collection of many times apart..

The pain and hurt fades away, as you get closer and closer each day..
It's today when you run and hug me with no delay

Eyes full of tears with joy,
And I hear the words "I missed you, baby boy"

Until we separate again,
The pain will not destroy
The happiness we have together,
That we will enjoy.
