Dreading the 14th

by Poetvoices   Oct 2, 2006

Two worlds apart
with few connections.
Around and around my brain rattles
without any deflection.

I'd sacrifice myself
giving of brain and soul
to experience ALL the change
so not to have this... this--hole.

Instead of chipping the iceberg,
let's shatter the whole thing.
Let's dismember the whole bird
rather than taking a wing.

I'd make the move for you,
and be in a different place,
recognizing nothing--
not a single face.

Unfortunately, that's not possible.
Not here, not now,
so I have to figure a way by
There's GOT to be some way--somehow.

Depressed and stressing every second,
I pray God's will be done.
I'm drained of all my energy and tears,
and worst of all, soon, you'll be gone.
