Forever...

by Jacob M Parnell   Oct 2, 2006

He reached for her hand.
As he told her goodbye.
He missed by a strand.
She glanced toward the sky.

She couldn't stop crying.
He attempted to explain.
But despite his trying.
She couldn't hear him in the rain.

It had been three years
Why did it have to end now.
But her worst fears.
Were now being played out.

She loved him so much.
She never wanted it to end.
Still craving his touch.
She prayed for the pain to mend.

He told her it would be ok.
That everything would end well.
That there was no need to pray.
To just bid him farewell.

It was almost like she wasn't listening.
She was still in constant sob.
The tears on her cheek glistening.
She could only feel the pain throb.

He kissed her on the cheek.
Trying to comfort her one last time.
Told her never to be weak.
That there is no obstacle she couldn't climb.

But she just stood numb.
Trying to cope with what was going on.
Unable to realize what had become.
Their love was now gone.

The wind no longer blew
The rain had stopped.
The world became true.
And then it dropped.

The final tear fell from her chin.
She said. "I will always love you Dave"
Then fell to her knees when.
She placed the rose upon his grave.

I expecially love how you find out that hes dead at the end. Yea that was cool. :) Except I have a poem call Dying with Daisys that I haven't posted yet that ends with flowers on a grave. So if you read it, just know I am not like copying you. Anyways 5/5
