SHARING YOUR LAST NAME

by klumzy   Oct 3, 2006

I have never in my life wished for fortune or fame,
Only to be your wife and to share your last name.
I never have wanted a big house or a fancy car,
Just to be somewhere close to you, wherever you are.

Sitting together, sometimes not saying much,
Having you close enough for me to reach out and touch.
Having the confidence in yourself to let me be me,
Knowing when you look into my eyes it is love you see.

Being held so tenderly by you when I need to cry,
Sometimes not able to even give you a reason why.
For me to know you will always be there by my side,
A heart filled with love and trust only you can provide.

Talking things through to say what is on our mind,
But then being able to move on and leave it all behind.
You cant put a price on all of these things,
No furs or greeting cards, no diamond rings.

Ever since our wedding day when we first said I do,
These are the only things I have ever wanted from you.
So take the big house, fancy car or any fortune or fame,
Please, know I am content just sharing your last name.
