I am numb

by Nathan Hickling   Oct 3, 2006

I am Numb

A thousand blades have pierced my heart,
A thousand blades have pierced my soul.
Yet I am numb.

I have stabbed myself in the back again,
Taking away more of what keeps me happy.
Yet I am numb.

Cherish those around you otherwise you will lose them,
I have pushed my friends away.
Yet I am numb.

Those around me hit me in ways that leave no marks,
Yet the scars are eternal, and forever painful.
Yet I am numb.

My world is crashing around me,
My life is failing
Yet I am numb.

Forever Numb, forever unfeeling
Eternally empty, eternally alone.
Though I am not alone.

Never leave your true friends,
because they will never leave you.
No matter what happens,
Your true friends will be there.

I am no longer numb.
I know who to trust,
Those that surround me,
Regardless of how I feel.
