Night Swimming

by Phoebe   Oct 4, 2006

Moonlight falls upon our bodies,
As we stare up at the darkening sky,
Our feet dangling over the rocks,
And the cold water hits you & I.

I slide in the water, ripples forming,
and you jump in making a splash,
We hold hands and dive under,
We come up, blinded, and together we crash.

You wipe the water from my eyes,
and they focus on your droplet covered face,
I see that spark in your eyes,
and I'm captivated by your beauty and grace.

I hold you close as the water twirls around us,
And I can feel your naked body against me,
I wrap my legs around your waist,
And I know by your smile, you are happy.

I rest my head on your shoulder,
My body tired and weak,
You pick me up and climb out the water,
And you gently kiss my cheek.

You're careful not to wake me,
as you make sure I'm warm and dry,
And softly you whisper "I love you"
As you carry me home under the sky.

You lay me down in your bed,
And you cover me with your covers,
You lay down beside me and curl up close,
There's no need for any others.

You lie awake for a while,
Watching me sleep and dream,
You're like my guardian angel,
The most beautiful I've seen.

You make my heart fly with a single look,
From your beautiful blue eyes,
And I know that we'll love each other,
Even after the other dies.
