That tree

by Vikky   Mar 15, 2004

Two friends used to sit under that tree
They had been friends since the age of three
They were always there for one another
Nat helped Dian when she lost her mother
They had both been through thick and thin
They only let each other in
They did everything together
And promised they'd be friends forever
But Nat liked a boy
Dian had to disagree
They had a row under that tree
Nat stayed up and feeling sad all night
She hated it when they fight
But she loved Sam
But she wanted Dian too
She was stuck on what she should do
She was woke the next morning by the phone
It was Dian's dad
Something had happened
something bad
Dian had been run over
And she had died
She couldn't believe it
She cried and cried
She finished Sam
and ran to hide
She felt so empty
In a world without her friend
She couldn't believe
she let their friendship end
Dian's dad gave her a book
She opened it
and had a look
Dian had wrote in it
A sorry note
A letter to Nat
Dian had wrote
You'll always be my best friend
Even if you and Sam do not end
I may come and see you soon
Maybe tomorrow afternoon
If you could forgive me
For being a bad friend
Then maybe our friendship
Wouldn't have to end
Later that week Dian was buried
But not in a cemetery
Under that tree
