Waiting for him

by Sarah   Oct 8, 2006

She looks down from her window
for someone that wasn't there
throwing pebbles at the sill
yet the bottom seemed so bare

a longing for his heart
she turns her face and cries
the tepid silk upon her cheek
she hadn't forgotten her lies

she told him she hadn't loved him
to hide embarrassment
he had a girlfriend anyways
and never got the hint

she never knew what he kept inside
he had secrets too
although he had a girlfriend
his love for her was true

she wanted never to go by them
they were way too close
and when she saw them together
it just hurt the most

each and every day
he watched her from his desk
and when she looked back at him
his eyes would turn from their rest

she wondered and wished and wanted and hoped
all throughout the years
from him to see the beauty within
he never seems to hear

his birthday would come
he'd wish for one thing
she'd be in his arms one day
the happiness it would bring

so for years and years
she looked down from her window
for someone that wasn't there
throwing pebbles at the sill she waits
yet the bottom seems so bare.
