You found me when I was in hiding

You shaded me when the sun was too blinding

You made me laugh when all I wanted was to frown
I laughed so hard that tears ran down my face
You lifted me high and never let me hit the ground
You put my scattered pieces back into place.

I was caged in and you set me free
like a bird my wings were clipped and worn

You helped a new me be born.

You held me close when I was cold
Comforting words to calm my heart
