Autumn's Hollow

by ModernDavinci   Oct 15, 2006

Rewind, it's tainted caress dances up and down your spine, your heart shivers all the time.
Flying out full circle, shadows float upon pastic stencils, running on empty, running on end.
Because you don't know what it's like to begin again. Fallen leaves dance upon blackened streets.
Children kiss the ground for broken sweets. Tired intimacy sings in the air. It's here, it's here.
The sun dawns elsewhere, all roads end somewhere. Don't ask it why, don't ask it how.
It doesn't have any reason to hide. Hurry children, hurry inside. It knows all the times you've lied.
The first frost bites at your hand. The ground frozen with hardened sand.
Mildew buries itself in plagues of broken ice. Cold, white, depressant tears fall from the sky.
Broken hearts catch the wind and fly. Summer's gone, Autumn's here, Autumn's here.

It's all around, it starts at the ground, moves up your feet. Run away, run down the street.
Find a warm home to bundle up in, it chases you, chases every sin. It's here, here without warning.
It laughs upon your every mourning. It's thirty below, where are you going to go?
It seeps under the cracks of closed doors, rides up from broken floors.
Hurry, it's coming, it's coming. Light your fire, melt away the cold with dark desire.
But know, it shall find you wherever you go. It knows when it's time to drop the temperatures low.
It sings in the clouds, awating, ready, for the first snow. It's creeping, creeping upon eerie silence.
It rugs at the warmth during the light, dances, burns out the candle light. Autumn's gone, Winter's here.
Winter's here.
