A note for you

What can I do when all I can do
Is to pray for you and think of you
All I want is to bring a smile to your face
Maybe a moment of peace and grace
But too much for your busy day
I'm sorry I didn't know the right words to say
And that I always take your sleep time away

What can I do when all I can do
Is to smile for you, hoping that's what you'd be doing too
All I want is to be closer to you and strengthen our love
But what can we do when we don't praise to our Father above
Friendships tremble but I feel that their hearts are longing
For a light to shine through them and a heart that's forgiving
I'm sorry that I don't know the answers you seek
My heart knows but it doesn't know how to speak

What can I do when all I can do
Is to write you this poem to you
If you ever read it I hope Father is blessing your days
Though time may not wait I will wait for you always
I'll hold out my arms like you'd do for me
Just follow your heart set your inner spirits free
Because that's all that you need to be
