when i tell you i cry

when we drew the heart in the sand

did you ever care
when i told you, you were the one
did you ever care
when my heart weighed a ton

did you ever care
when i was always tired at school
staying up all night because you were the fool

did you ever care
when i didn't want to be alone
you shut me down and turned away
by hanging up the phone

did you ever care
when i lost my best friend for you
did you ever care
when i said i love you too

did you ever plan
to tear away my heart
when all i needed was your love
from the very start.
