My poem

She was a young girl about seventeen
They were hanging out at the ravine
He was still a boy at twenty-one
Thats when it had all begun
It was then they shared their first kiss
He made her feel like a princess
She thought it was just a kiss
Just one night of drunken bliss
Then they were reunited at a bonfire
They were overcome with desire
Only to part when she left for school
It seemed that life really was cruel
A few years later they started going out
They taught each other what love is all about
It seemed to her that it had to be fate
She felt she had found her soul mate
She showered him with her love
She thought of him as a gift from above
Then something terrible happened
Their beautiful relationship was dampened
They might have made it if they tried
Instead they both held it all inside
It seemed like all they did was fight
Their world was without its light
They decided it was best to separate
It was a decision she grew to hate
He had broken her heart and soul
Inside of her there was a gaping hole
She had thought she couldn't go on
She thought her life, like him, was gone
But she realized it was better this way
Now her smile is like a suns ray
