You Saved Me

by Levi   Oct 31, 2006

Looking into your beautiful eyes,
Gaining sight of the ultimate prize.
My heart must have skipped a beat,
Cause I almost fell to my feet.
Love wreathes tightly around me,
And it's warmth is setting me free.

For so long I've been drowning on my own,
But now I am certain that I'm not alone.
You came when I was about to give up it all,
Grabbing my hand and saving me from the fall.
You held me tight and I finally felt complete,
And I no longer struggle to stand on my feet.

Chorus
You saved me and set me free,
Without you I would cease to be.
The Darkness had stolen my sight,
And the battle I could no longer fight.
Yet you still found me when I was lost,
And now I cannot feel the bitter frost.
Without you I would cease to be,
You saved me and set me free.

My life before you had no meaning at all,
So desperately I waited for the dark angel's call.
The ashes that used to be my heart were swept away,
And my faith has returned and I can finally pray.
You changed everything and now it all has meaning,
You came and silenced my internally painful screaming.
My heart has been reborn and my soul is no longer torn,
The pain and suffering that used to be is finally gone.

I used to lie alone in my bed wide awake with my tears,
That's what it came to in the end and all I had was fear.
When I slept I was plagued with broken dreams,
Which where just full of haunting, emotionless screams.
Then out of the dark you came a beckoning light,
And you where all that was in my sight.

Chorus
You saved me and set me free,
Without you I would cease to be.
The Darkness had stolen my sight,
And the battle I could no longer fight.
Yet you still found me when I was lost,
And now I cannot feel the bitter frost.
Without you I would cease to be,
You saved me and set me free...

Facing the rest of life together and more,
No longer looking silently at the cold floor.
Looking at you and you at me,
From the shadow we have both been set free.
The World has meaning and all is perfectly fine,
And we shall never part each other until the end of time...
