Remember the day he went out to war?
The day he decided to give his life for
his country and all who lived on it's lands,
The freedom of life was put in his hands.
Each chance he would write, each day I would pray.
That you are alive, and not long will you stay
in a gruesome battle that threatens your life.
For if you are gone, I will be saddened with strife.
Remember the day you read the words clearly?
The words that read: He loved you so dearly.
Not a moment passed by, he thought of you always.
Although he had not heard or seen you in days.
His last words to you are: I'll love you forever.
Even though I am gone, we will still be together.
A story so sad of a woman and he,
But because of this tale, we are long to be free.
Let us pray for the dead and also the living.
The one's involved in war, the one's who are giving.
To this day and days to come, we live with no treason,
because of the men who died for a reason.
