Lullabye of the Night

by Taylor   Nov 8, 2006

A blanket of stillness envelopes
this cold, quiet night.
Listen and hear,
the chimes dance for you
so softly,
that the birds stop to listen.
Listen and hear,
the rhythmic beat
of each sleeping heart.
They combine,
creating for you a grand percussion.
Listen and hear,
the calm wind awaken the leaf.
It bows for you,
bringing along the kneeling trees.
Listen and hear
the crickets play so sweetly
to the melody of the angels.
No trumpets or blaring speakers,
just the songs-
sweet and subtle.
Listen
for you will hear
the lullabye of the night.
