Cornfield

by just_genes   Nov 9, 2006

When to harvest the corn?
In their ripeness are they:
Bursting with green;
Verdant but tipped with gold; or
Dry and the colour of wheat?

Like the ghosts of old men
The cornstalks bend and blow in the breeze
Huddled together like soldiers.
