A Night By The Fireside

by midnights angel   Nov 27, 2006

The music playing in the background,
Is the only thing keeping my damned heart going,
And the heat of the blazing fire,
Keeps my chilled blood flowing,

The sweet smell of burning wood,
All upon my skin,
Memories that were forgotten,
Come back as pain floods in,

Dreams never dreamt before,
Running through my head,
A soulless creature in the night,
Living life just next to dead,

The loneliness so unforgiving,
With only strangers outside,
A constant reminder, always there,
Of the unseen tears often cried,

A chilling breeze suddenly,
Blowing right on through,
Leaving me more then ever,
Wanting to be there with you,

The sky above foreshadowing,
The sweet most beautiful rain,
To make the plants grow stronger,
And to wash away some ones pain,

The words so simply written,
Are written on my face,
I am much to different,
To ever belong in this place,

No bonds to restrain me,
From leaving this all behind,
A stubborn headed little girl,
With a danger filled mind,

A minute too late,
A second too soon,
It doesn't matter now,
Ill follow the moon,

A mouth to quick,
And eyes too blind,
To see whats left here,
For me to find,

Pain too recent,
And fear too old,
Memories that are fading,
Behind eyes that are cold,

Dreams forgotten,
New betrayal found,
My words fall alone,
Leaving not even a sound.
