To Edgar Allan Poe

by Hannah Emellia   Dec 2, 2006

I sigh and put away my book,
I just can't help but cry,
Why couldn't it be different?
But, the dates will never lie.

Two souls touch,
Centuries apart.
Enchanting poetry,
Reaches my heart.

His talent never ceases to amaze me,
And his looks aren't all that bad,
He married his own cousin,
That's not very sad...

I think I've fallen for this man,
A man I'll never meet,
He died before I was even born...
This isn't over- take a seat.

Two souls touch,
Centuries apart.
Enchanting poetry,
Reaches my heart.

I think it's more than obsession,
I think that we're involved,
Around this beautiful poet,
My life seems to revolve.

I'll kill myself to be with him!
Just you wait and see,
Maybe I'll do it for myself-
To set my broken heart free.

Two souls touch,
Centuries apart.
Enchanting poetry,
Reaches my heart.

I like it, I too love Edgar Allen Poe, he was amazing and insane but he was a master with words.
