Freedom Lost in Bitter Weather

by Levi   Dec 6, 2006

Entwined within the bitter weather; hidden sunlight fades,
Engulfed by the blurry haze; silhouettes quickly cascade.
Caressed by an icy wind; that constantly takes warmth away,
Feeble attempts to correct what's wrong; in this dying day.

Somewhere does a frozen soul rest; paralysed by fear and pain,
Imbued with a slow decay; cries emit but sorrows are in vein.
The tears that fall gradually from these elicit howls of shadow,
Silver runs through the malevolent forces that do not show.

Veiled opinions fractured by the broken reflections of sight,
Misery and aching pain slip into the haunting dark of night.
Rusted chains hold down the hope of freedom and peace,
Excruciating pain amounts; while reaching for the precious key of release.
