Oh, Mighty Dragon

by Vyntrrose   Dec 7, 2006

Oh, mighty Dragon of the skies
Blessed beast of claw and wing
Fearsome creature who never dies
Come, come to me, and sing

Sing of dreams yet to come
And of places distanced far
Warm my heart and melt the numb
Calm my fears and heal my scars

Emerald scales shine like glass
Eyes of black see no lies
Tongue of flames that never pass
Fangs whose sharpness never dies

Open wings like summer leaves
Set to fly upon the wind
Not allowing me to grieve
After all the times I sinned

Guardian who leaves me not
I am grateful for your care
Your love will never be forgot
For when you leave I shall despair
