Not going as Planned

Oh! Today is the day I've waited for
Today he will get down on his knees
He'll beg me to love him to make him whole
To be with him forever, and let him see
The bright future in store for both him and me

He'd plan the most glamorous dinner,
And a beautiful night out
And finally when we are alone
He'll ask me the beautiful question
That will join out lives together

When he gets down on one knee to say marry me
I'll pause and I'll wait, causing a little pain
But finally I'll say yes, to relive him again
And I'll make him happier than he has ever been
He'll hold me close, and a passionate kiss ensues
he'll know and I'll know forever to each other true

I am waiting at the door,
Oh! what a great surprise in store
He doesn't know I know, but I already do
So everything that he does, I know the reason why
He thinks he is cleaver and he'll trick me all night long
But I already know they day was coming all along

As we walked out the door, and into the car,
He takes my hands to place in this pockets
Warm sweaty hands as it always is
More movement today as his fingers twist
And to my surprise he puts on my finger a ring!

Where is my dinner and my one knee proposal?
Where is his begging and his agonizing wait?
Where is the romantic setting, with only us two?
Why didn't he follow the plan I'd foreseen?
Why it is now, when there is nothing nowhere
I looked at him as he grinned straight ahead

He already knew I knew, so it had to change
So instead of asking, he just place it on my hand
And to my surprise it bothered me none
Cause it makes me happier knowing he already knew
My answer was alway yes, and always will be

So I held on to his hands and made not a sound
I'll let him love me and hear me whine
I'll let him take care of me during my sad times
And in return I'll care for him when he is happy
And I'll care for him when he is sad
And we'll care for each other good times or bad
