Me and You

by Broken   Dec 8, 2006

Why are we dragging this out
It's just causing us more pain
We're too in love to let go
But not enough for things to change
We try to ignore the problems
And we don't work out our fights
We don't talk during the day
And we don't touch at night
The words keep getting harsher
As each day comes and goes
We haven't hit rock bottom yet
But we know we're getting close
Picturing life without you in it
Is like picturing a day without the sun
Waking up without you next to me
Is as pointless as a bullet with no gun
No one dies from a broken heart
But there's a first time for everything
Because, baby, you're the only thing
That even makes my life worth living.
We have to stand together
And we have to stand strong
We have to straighten up
Because the road is going to be long.
We've been given a second chance
To get this whole thing right
And I'm not going to give in
Without putting up one hell of a fight.
Let's only speak with words of love
And words that make make us smile
And let's cut down the arguments
To just every once in a while.
Let's turn off the lights and go to bed
And hold each other tight.
Let's make up and let's make love
Over and over again tonight.
