What she Is and What She Was

by .Sugar.Bebe.4-20.   Dec 13, 2006

There’s something different about her now
He’s taken what she’s had to live for
And he’s stomped on it and given it back
And every time she falls he picks her up
Only to make her fall again

There’s something different in her walk
She doesn’t bounce like she used too
Her beautiful eyes don’t shine like they used too
She can’t look up anymore, she always looks down
She still looks amazing but she doesn’t smile anymore

If I could turn back time
I’d get to her before he did
I’d let her know that I was the one who really loved her
I’d show her she’s worth more than what he treated her
I’d let her know that she’s worth more than a million dollars

I’d never leave her for another girl
No matter what I wouldn’t touch another girl
She’d be my one and only
I know she’s understanding
She doesn’t require much
Just a hand to help her up
Arms to hold her at her weakest
Eyes to see her at her ugliest
And words to comfort her at her worst

I’d be there for her and I wouldn’t give up
Sometimes it would be hard
But I wouldn’t give up on her
She’s worth more than a misunderstanding
She understands and she listens
She doesn’t get mad that easy
She tolerates a lot
She knows what she wants in life
But she never pressures me to do what she wants

She’s laid back and calm
With a wild side that brings a fire
Even when she can’t smile herself
She does what she can to make him happy
But still he demands more
She’s running out but she seems to stay strong
But only I know that the girl behind the smile is dying
